If you want to calculate pole figure (for cubic symmetry only) using your own ODF data, please read
carefully the requirement of the file format for your ODF data, which is described below. Online pole figure calculation is available for cubic system and materials with orthrombic sample symmetry and low precision.

To practice pole figure calculation using our sample data.

To start pole figure calculation with your own data.

To calculate pole figure for all seven crystal systems with high resolution, please try our free TexTools Software Package

Note: File format for pole figure calculation

A sample ODF File is given partially in the text area for demonstration.

  1. The first line contains the description of the ODF file. Usually it is the name of the ODF file.
  2. The second line is "phi2 = 0", which indicates the ODF data in the following block is for j2 = 0 section. However, the content of this line can be anything.
  3. From the third line on, it is a block of ODF data for j2 = 0 section. This block has to be in the format of 19 rows by 19 columns. Columns represent j1 and rows represent F.
  4. The following data format is the repetition of 2) and 3). These blocks represents the ODF data from j2 = 5 to j2 = 90 sections sequentially. Therefore, total 19 blocks of data has to be present
